On September 1, 2022, WiT|LA participated in the LA County Women’s Leadership Conference 2022 at the Westin Bonaventure Downtown Los Angeles. This year’s conference theme, WE RISE, celebrates the journey overcoming life’s hurdles and our growth as individuals and as a community, lifting each other up to reach our greatest potential. EMPOWHER - GIRLS TO GREATNESS
On April 30, 2021, EmpowHer Institute hosted their 4th Annual Girls to Greatness Teen Summit virtually. This year’s theme: Our Voice. Our Time. refers to the powerful leadership young women have exemplified in bringing awareness to societal crises and serving as the catalysts of today’s important movements. With the help of our Sponsors, LA County Auditor Controller’s Office (Arlene Barrera), CISCO and World-Wide Technologies, WIT assisted the Girls in getting “swag bags” filled with goodies and snacks.
Breakfast and Brainstorm
On May 9, 2019 the Women in Technology (WiT) team kicked off an executive Breakfast & Brainstorming session with Los Angeles County leaders. At this event, five topics of conversation were discussed; Mentorship, Recruitment, Career Growth, Workforce Development and Public/Private Partnerships. The goal is for representatives from various county departments to champion these areas of focus and assist in the development of a framework to further promote the Women in Technology initiative.
